This pilot project focused on the establishment of dedicated fact-checking desks in collaboration with Internews Tanzania across six national media houses: Azam Media, Uhuru Media Group, Mwananchi Communications Limited, Abood FM, Hits FM, and Majira Newspaper.

Through the creation of these fact-checking desks, combined with structured mentorship, the project aimed to institutionalize fact-checking practices within newsrooms. This approach supported the long-term spread of verification skills across the media sector, helping news organizations avoid amplifying misinformation and disinformation.
