TikTok collaborated with NuktaFakt, a Nukta Africa Swahili fact-checking initiative, to support election integrity efforts ahead of Tanzania’s October 2025 general election. As part of this collaboration, TikTok launched an in-app Election Center in Kiswahili to help users access accurate and reliable election-related information. The initiative aimed to ensure that users could easily find trusted sources and verified guidance during the election period. This collaboration formed part of TikTok’s broader efforts to combat misinformation and deceptive content by directing users to credible information, adding context to election-related content, and strengthening the integrity of information shared on the platform.

Impact: Millions of people especially the youth were reached with the content and including techniques to identify misinformation and key steps to get quality information related to the election for their decision making.
